About

A family travel business, built by a family who actually travels together.

Chapters Travel Co. grew out of planning our own trips. We're a family of seven in Louisville, Kentucky — five kids, homeschooled, and used to traveling as a group.

The early chapters were Disney trips, cruises, and regional exploring.  From there, we planned several long distance (3 weeks each) road trips across different parts of the US - from the Black Hills and Badlands, to the Grand Canyon, to the tip of the Florida Keys and up the East Coast.

In 2025 we planned and took a 6 week trip to Europe including two Transatlantic Cruises (sailed both ways) and visited Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, and the UK.

More recently we've focused on multigenerational trip planning and took groups to New York City (12 travelers, 3 generations), Las Vegas (19 travelers, 3 generations), and Turks and Caicos (17 travelers, 3 generations).

We're a Certified Fora Travel Advisor, which gives clients access to preferred-partner perks — upgrades, credits, and amenities — at no extra cost, on top of the planning itself.

What We Do

Areas of expertise

Whether your group is big or small, we can bring the details together to make it happen. But here are a few areas we have the most experience in.

01

Multigenerational family trips

This is one of our specialty strengths.  Itineraries that work for grandparents, parents, and kids traveling together — paced right, with room for everyone.

02

Villa & private home stays

Spacious private rentals for larger groups, rather than booking blocks of separate hotel rooms.

03

Inspired celebrations

Do you (or someone in your group) have a special milestone coming up in the next 6-18 months?  Need some inspiration? Been there.  And we can help.

04

Group cruises

Ocean and river cruises for multigenerational groups who want one price, one ship, and everyone just a few doors down.

05

Preferred-partner access

Access to Virtuoso and preferred-partner properties, which can mean room upgrades, resort credits, or early check-in where available.

The Process

How we work

01

Get in touch

Use the "Get Started" link to get in touch easily.  That will create your profile with us so we have your accurate contact information in one place.

02

Quick intro phone call

We'll email you quickly and then set a time with you for a short phone call.  If you have a specific trip you're interested in, we'll gather some basic information to do some early research and guide you with the next steps.

03

We deliver

Depending on your needs and wishes, we'll start delivery for you.  For some, that's scheduling our unique Family Travel Consultation.  For others, that means pricing out the specific trip you already have in mind.  For others, that means providing some inspiration for an upcoming milestone celebration.  Our services are unique to your specific needs; we know how to adapt to you.

A Few Examples

Trips we've planned

Tuscany countryside villa

Tuscany countryside week

A private villa with a pool and room to spread out, a short drive from Florence and Pisa. Built for groups of 10+.

New York City skyline

NYC multigenerational getaway

Three generations, one week in the city — Broadway, Central Park, and everyone's favorite restaurant twice.

Family group in Las Vegas

Las Vegas family celebration

19 travelers, three generations, one milestone weekend — shows, dinners, and enough room for everyone to come and go at their own pace.

Resort pool in Turks and Caicos

Turks & Caicos getaway

17 travelers, three generations, one beachfront stretch of the islands — built around togetherness without losing anyone's independence.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

What To Expect

How we work with you

Most groups start one of two ways.

Standalone or First Step

Family Travel Consultation

$1,500 flat rate

A single working session — plus a written summary afterward — built to get your group's decision-makers aligned before any planning starts. We surface the real questions around budget, timing, and expectations across generations, so everyone's headed the same direction. Works on its own, or as the foundation for full trip planning.

End-to-End Planning

Full Trip Planning

Planning Fee of $75-$150 per person, depending on group size and destination

We research, design, and book the itinerary — lodging, activities, and logistics — then handle the coordination so you don't have to. A deposit is due at the start of planning, with the balance due once the itinerary is approved.

Every quote is specific to your group's size, destination, and season — Get Started is the first step toward an accurate number.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

What makes a trip "multigenerational"? +

It means grandparents, parents, and kids traveling together on the same trip — not just the same destination at different times. We build itineraries that pace activities, lodging, and downtime so every generation is comfortable, not just the loudest voice in the group chat.

How is this different from a general travel agent? +

We don't book every kind of trip for every kind of traveler. Multigenerational group travel is what we focus on — and what our own family of seven has actually done, repeatedly, at group sizes from a dozen to nearly twenty. You get one point of contact who has lived the exact logistics you're trying to solve.

What's the difference between the Consultation and Full Trip Planning? +

The Family Travel Consultation is a single working session built to get your group's decision-makers aligned on budget, timing, and expectations — useful on its own, even if you plan the trip yourselves. Full Trip Planning is the end-to-end version: we research, design, and book everything, then handle the coordination from there.

Do you only plan trips like the ones shown above? +

Those are real examples, not the limit. Villas, resorts, cruises, cities, multi-country itineraries — if it works for a multigenerational group, it's in our wheelhouse. Tell us where your family wants to go and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a fit.

How far in advance should we start planning? +

For larger groups or peak-season destinations, 6–12 months gives us the best shot at the right villa or resort availability for everyone. Smaller groups or more flexible dates can move faster — Get Started and we'll tell you what's realistic for your timeline.
